The Acorn 130 has been continually developed and improved over many years — the direct descendant of Acorn's very first straight stairlift, the Superglide. The result is a slimline, reliable lift that fits quickly to your stairs (not your wall), needs no structural changes and folds neatly away when not in use. We're an independent Manchester company that's been fitting Acorn stairlifts for over 20 years. You'll deal with our local engineers from quote to handover — no national call centre. None you don't. Every Acorn 130 we fit comes with the safety and convenience features that matter — folding footrest with sensors, seatbelt, diagnostic display, remote controls and battery backup as standard. - ### Fits to the stairs, not the wall The Acorn 130 rail bolts directly to the stair treads. No structural changes, no plastering, no damage to your home. - ### Slimline, made-to-measure rail Cut to the exact length of your straight staircase, so others can still walk up and down comfortably alongside. - ### Folding seat, arms & footrest Everything folds flat when not in use, keeping the stairs clear for the rest of the household. - ### Battery powered — works in a power cut Rechargeable batteries trickle-charge from the mains and keep the lift running even when the power goes out. - ### Safety sensors as standard Footrest and carriage sensors stop the lift if anything's on the stairs. Lockable keyswitch and seatbelt included. - ### Smooth start, smooth stop Gentle acceleration and braking on every ride — comfortable for sensitive joints and easy on the nerves. Acorn 130 FAQs ## Questions we get asked every week. How much does the Acorn 130 cost in Manchester? A brand-new Acorn 130 straight stairlift is £1,995 fitted, including the free home survey, installation and a 12-month warranty. A reconditioned Acorn 130 is £995 fitted. How quickly can it be installed? Most Acorn 130 straight stairlifts are fitted within 24–48 hours of the home survey. Emergency same-day fittings are also available. Is the Acorn 130 only for straight staircases? Yes — the Acorn 130 is designed for staircases that run in one continuous flight with no turns or half-landings. If your stairs turn, you'll need a curved stairlift instead. Will it damage my staircase? No. The rail fixes to the stair treads, not your wall.
