The **Infinity heavy-duty stairlift** is built for users up to **25 stone (160 kg)** — about 35% above a standard stairlift's 19-stone (120 kg) limit. Wider seat, reinforced brackets, a stronger drive system and a heavier-duty battery, all certified to BS EN 81-40. If the user is close to or above a standard lift's weight limit, the Infinity is the right call from day one. The motor, drive belt and brake assembly are uprated; the rail uses closer-spaced bracket points to spread the load; and the seat frame is welded steel rather than the lighter pressed-steel of a standard chair. Rotten or split treads must be repaired before fitting — uncommon, but we check. ## What it costs The Infinity range is priced above a standard stairlift because the components are larger and the install takes longer.
