Local access & staircase notes
Collyhurst is an inner-city Manchester area in the M40 postcode, close to the city centre on Rochdale Road and Oldham Road. Housing here is typically a mix of older terraced stock and newer regeneration schemes, so we often see tighter stair widths and compact turns rather than broad suburban staircases; half-landings and quarter-turn layouts are common in this part of Manchester.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a straight stairlift in Collyhurst?
In Collyhurst, our straight stairlifts are £1,995 fitted and are typically the best-value option where the staircase runs in a single straight line. Because Collyhurst is mainly an inner-city Manchester area in M40, we normally survey first to confirm the rail length and stair width.
Is there a cheaper stairlift option in Collyhurst?
For Collyhurst, reconditioned stairlifts are £1,195 fitted and are often suitable for simpler, narrower staircases in older Manchester homes. We usually complete fitting in 24-48 hours once the survey is done.
When does Collyhurst need a curved stairlift?
In Collyhurst, a curved stairlift is from £2,995 fitted for stairs with turns, half-landings or winding sections. Homes around M40 often have compact staircases, so a curved rail is common where a straight model will not fit.
How long does stairlift fitting take in Collyhurst?
For Collyhurst, straight and reconditioned stairlifts are usually fitted in 24-48 hours, while curved stairlifts take around 1-3 weeks. If Collyhurst has an urgent access need, we can discuss a 48-hour emergency fitting.
Does VAT relief apply in Collyhurst?
Most Collyhurst customers may qualify for VAT relief on stairlifts if the purchase meets HMRC conditions for disability-related equipment. We can explain the paperwork during your Collyhurst survey.
