With stairlift rental and hire, you can rent a reconditioned (used) stairlift that has been stripped, checked, serviced and had its wearing parts replaced. A straight stairlift costs £500 upfront, which covers the survey, fitting and your first month, then £50 a month. A curved stairlift costs £2,000 upfront, covering the made-to-measure rail and six months, then £80 a month. Every rental lift is reconditioned, servicing is included, and the contract is rolling with no minimum term.

How much does it cost to rent a stairlift?

Stairlift rental costs £500 upfront then £50 a month for a straight staircase, or £2,000 upfront then £80 a month for a curved one.

Renting a straight stairlift for six months costs £750 in total; a curved one costs £2,000.

Why does a curved stairlift cost more to rent?

A curved stairlift needs a rail made to measure for your staircase, and that rail can't be reused in another home. The £2,000 upfront pays for the rail and covers your first six months, so the monthly rate only starts in month 7. For a straight staircase, a standard rail is cut to length, which keeps the upfront payment to £500.

You use it for as long as you need it. Servicing and repairs are on us.
When you're done, call us. We remove it and the rental stops.

After the £500 upfront payment, a straight stairlift costs £50 a month, about £11.50 a week.

Do I pay VAT on stairlift rental?

Not if the person using it has a long-term illness or disability. Stairlift hire can be zero-rated under HMRC VAT Notice 701/7. All our prices are VAT-free at 0% for anyone with a long-term illness or disability.

What warranty does the lift have?

Every lift, new or reconditioned, has a 12-month parts and labour warranty. Rental also includes servicing and repairs for as long as you rent.

Can I buy the lift later?

Yes. We can credit the rent you've paid towards buying the lift.
